Field Erected Units
Custom Cooling Solutions for Larger Applications
In applications where the requirements exceeds the duties of packaged units, a field erected unit is fabricated for easy later assembly, transported in knocked-down format and erected on site. These units require a separate sump (concrete or steel) and can be included in our supply or the client may opt to construct this himself.
These type of units:
- can be configured to suit any available footprint.
- are easy and cheaper to transport, as it is delivered unassembled to the client.
- have parts that are kept to minimum weight for easy lifting and erection.
- can accommodate any type of fill media to suit the application.
The units are supplied standard with a combination of Direct-Drive Fan Units as opposed to the conventional Gearbox-Driven Fans.
Benefits of Direct Drive Fans vs Gearbox Driven Fan Units:
- Less vibration.
- Almost no maintenance required.
- Easy to replace – no crane required, therefor less down-time.
- Greater possibilities for energy saving.
- Fans can be stopped / started more frequently than on gearbox driven fans.
- In case of motor failure only a percentage of cooling is lost, not total cooling.
- Expensive variable speed drives (VSD’S) are not required for temperature control/energy saving as fans can simply be stopped / started in any number or sequence.
